DC Career Trek - Consulting

Want to learn more about a career in Consulting in DC?

Join us in Washington, DC for an amazing Career Trek on May 31st and June 1st. During the trek students will visit:
  • Navigant Consulting
  • Deloitte
  • Gartner
  • Berkeley Research Group
On Thursday evening, students will participate in DC Connects.

The purpose of this trek is to learn more about the hiring process within the consulting field for jobs and internships that would begin in May 2019.

Students are responsible for their travel to and from DC, meals, and room/board.  There are a limited number of need-based scholarships available to undergrad students to assist with 1 night room & board. If you are interested in this, please contact Ashley Graham Phipps (phippsac@wfu.edu).

To be considered for one of the 15 slots for this Trek, you must submit a resume, a reflection statement, and video. At the bottom of your reflection statement you should include a link to the video (host on Google Drive).

Your reflection should be at least 1 page and address the following questions. Your response to each question should be one paragraph.

  1. What are the professional reasons you wish to attend this trek?  Why are you interested in the consulting industry?
  2. Explain your career possibilities/direction and the tools that you have already used to explore them.
  3. Describe how focusing your attention on exploring Washington DC and the Consulting industry could impact your career exploration and application process?

Your video should answer the following prompt:

  • We just met in the elevator and you are interested in consulting. Give me your “elevator pitch”.

This trek is only open to current sophomores and juniors and incoming MA in Management students.

There will be a prep session for selected students on Thursday, May 3rd from 1pm until 3pm.
